Principles of Distance Education Module 1

Distance education is defined by Dr. Michael Simonson as, formal education in which the learning groups are separated by geography and sometimes by time.  Technology is used as the link.  He then speaks to the equivalency theory, stating it is the framework for distinguishing distance education and face to face education.  In the text, learning theories and instructional strategies are introduces while Terry Anderson focuses on the evolution of the theory and practice of online learning.

As I read the articles, I identified with my instructional strategies and the various theoretical approaches to learning.

  1. Victoria,
The content for your presentation should prove to be informational and a good introduction to a speaker. Please make sure you read the discussion post about the storyboards that the instructor posted. I do not think many of us got the just of the storyboard mind you with little help in how to create them prior to the assignment.
